Voith, a global technology group, has long been setting standards in the energy, oil & gas, paper, raw materials, and transport & automotive sectors. It is therefore no surprise that Voith is also leading the way in the digitalisation of industrial production, and that Industry 4.0 is already an integral part of its development expertise.
Papermaking 4.0

As part of an international management meeting organised by Voith Paper, the Stuttgart-based event agency what when why was tasked with communicating the concept of ‘Papermaking 4.0’ in a way that was easy to understand, visually striking and engaging. It was a truly unique event.
Using a combination of multimedia displays and live presentations, www developed a seamless storyline.
Virtual scenery with real-world benefits
The three-dimensional stage setting provided the perfect backdrop for the speakers, with a projection screen measuring over 70 m² and featuring the outline of a paper machine at its centre.
The stage was transformed into a completely virtual setting.
Impressive media production
The multimedia production, created by what when why, combined real and digital-virtual visual worlds and raised awareness of the enormous opportunities and possibilities arising from the digitalisation of industrial production.
Presenter and speaker coaching by www
The subsequent live presentations by the host and his speakers focused on the theme of “Papermaking 4.0”, a concept developed by Voith Paper. The presentations were staged in a manner that was both impressive and engaging, thanks to the excellent coordination between the speakers and the way the presentations were seamlessly integrated into the overall scenario.
